Botswana, country of the Tswanas named after the main ethnic group, can be visited all year round, however the dry season is from May to November , is the best way to discover wildlife. In the rainy season, from December to March , the animals find water everywhere, they scatter throughout the region which goes down to the Okavango Delta, it is less easy to spot them.

The spectacular Okavango Delta , the second largest inland delta in the world, a vast green plain flooded in season is a lush habitat for animals. It flows into the Kalahari Desert irrigating 15,000km2 there. A multitude of inlets, canals, islands and lagoons are home to a very varied fauna.

Near the Okavango Delta, the Chobe National Park marks the border with Namibia. Third largest park in the country, constantly supplying water from the Chobe River, this environment allows it to shelter large concentrations of wildlife.

What to do?

• superb safaris in the reserves of " Moremi " , " Savuti " and " Linyanti " ,
• a cruise on the chobe river meet Botswana elephants, hippos and a multitude of other animals,
• go to meet Bushmen ,
• discover the Okavango Delta aboard a mokoro, a traditional boat.

There is no yellow fever in Botswana so no vaccine is needed unless you stop over for more than 12 hours in a country where the disease is present.

Besides the vaccines classic (hepatitis A and B, tetanus, ...), there are no specific vaccines to provide for traveling to Botswana.

We strongly recommend anti-malaria treatment and traditional preventive measures against mosquito bites (long clothing, repellents).

To travel to Botswana, you need a passport valid for at least 6 months after the return date and which includes at least three blank pages.

For the French, Belgians and Swiss, no need to Visa for a trip of less than 90 days.
