Namibia can be visited all year round. For safaris, the best period is May to October during the dry season. This period also corresponds to the high season and you must therefore book well in advance.

For those who appreciate the peace and the great outdoors, the period of november to march is recommended. Although it corresponds to the rainy season, thunderstorms are short and localized.

The month of April is ideal because the temperatures are pleasant.

Caprivi Band: Located between Zambia and Botswana, this territory constitutes a safari stopover for those who wish to combine their trip to Namibia with a visit to Botswana or the Victoria Falls.

Skeleton Coast: This part of the coast very dangerous for navigation still shelters many wrecks of boats dating from the period when whaling was still authorized.

Windhoek: It is not a travel destination as such but rather a stopover to rest at the start and / or at the end of your trip. Visit the capital, the city center and the Sainte-Marie Cathedral, enjoy the many authentic restaurants and guesthouses.

 

There is no yellow fever in Namibia so no vaccine is needed unless you stop over for more than 12 hours in a country where the disease is present.

Besides the classic vaccines (hepatitis A and B, tetanus, ...), there are no specific vaccines to provide for traveling to Namibia.

For the northern part of the country (Caprivi, north of Etosha) we recommend an anti-malaria treatment and traditional preventive measures against mosquito bites (long clothes, repellents).

To travel to Namibia, you need a passport valid for at least 6 months after the return date and which has at least three blank pages.

For the French, Belgians and Swiss, no visa is needed for a trip of less than 90 days.
