Windhoek International Airport
Windhoek International Airport
First step in Namibia, you go directly to the bush and the Daan Viljoen nature reserve and its lodge. It's the perfect warm-up for your Namibian adventure off the beaten track. Its ideal location, just 25km from Windhoek, offers you a haven of peace and greenery from your first hours in Namibia. Experience the "quiet bush" near the city, abundant wildlife, mountains as far as the eye can see, perfect for getting into the rhythm of nature.
Halfway between the remarkable Etosha Park and the capital Windhoek, lies the superb Okonjima Reserve. This 22,000 hectare reserve is home to the Africat association which works in favor of the conservation of carnivores (and more particularly leopards). You will spend your first night camping by the fireside in the heart of the reserve.
En route for unforgettable safaris in the heart of Etosha National Park, a true jewel of Namibia. We suggest you go directly to the east of the park, a region very little explored and very wild. Here you can observe giraffes, elephants, zebras, lions, springboks ... not to mention the cheetahs that love the vast expanses formed by the drying up of Lake Etosha thousands of years ago, giving way to a desert of white salt.
Arid region, located between the Kalahari Desert and the Namib Desert. Damaraland is known for its most breathtaking landscapes in Namibia: plains with sparse vegetation and granite hills as far as the eye can see! For your fourth stop, discover this UNESCO World Heritage Site and its magnificent views of the Huab Valley, the desert plains and the mountains whose ocher color takes on golden reflections thanks to the rays of the sun. You will sleep in a magnificent campsite in the heart of the boulders.
Welcome to the Skeleton Coast and the little Cape Headland. This place is mythical, the Portuguese landed there in 1486 and they erected a stone cross in honor of the Portuguese king. Cape Cross is best known for its extraordinary colony of Cape Fur Seals, it has been turned into a reserve. The Skeleton Coast owes its name to its endless beaches littered with whale skeletons and shipwrecks. A thick fog often covers this area which adds an even more mysterious air.
Appointment made with the Ocean. Today after a last awakening in the middle of the bush of Twyfelfontein, direction the Atlantic coast and the lagoon of Walvis Bay for your 5th stage! On the program: discover the dunes of Sandwich Harbor in a 4X4 or choose a catamaran cruise to meet sea lions, dolphins and perhaps even whales of the Atlantic Ocean. A beautiful stage filled with adventures and activities to meet animals.
How to come to Namibia without discovering the famous dunes of Sossuslvei? This stage the Sossusvlei Park allows you to experience a sunrise over the dunes. Do not hesitate to go and get lost in the paths of the Sesriem canyon, carved by the Tsauchab river. Climb the famous Big Daddy dune, immortalize in photos the salars of Sossuvlei and Hidden Vlei before going to admire the sunset on the dune Elim. In the evening, have a good barbecue in your camp and enjoy the silence of the desert.
Here is our favorite reserve and Namibia's best kept gem. The Namib Rand Nature Reserve is full of incredible and diverse landscapes. Founded to preserve the unique environment and animals of the Namib Desert, you will experience the vastness of this reserve through dunes, lush mountains and rocky outcrops. No doubt you will be alone in the middle of nowhere. Every evening you will attend a magical show and contemplate the starry sky.
