Durban: a city with Indian influences
It is facing the Indian Ocean that the city of Durban rises. South Africa’s largest port, Durban is an Indian-influenced city also known as the Rainbow Nation’s playground.

Durban, the meeting between East and West in Africa
The third largest city in South Africa, Durban is located in the province of Kwazulu-Natal. Former capital of the colony and of the province of Natal, Durban is a city with its own architecture. We discover Victorian buildings bordering Indian-inspired mosques and a rather industrial coastline. Some say that this city is the meeting point between East and West in Africa.

The largest Indian community in South Africa has taken up residence in Durban. You will discover Indian shops and taste the best curries on the continent. The famous Bunny Chow is the local culinary specialty. This is a European sandwich bread filled with curry. Originally, this poor man’s dish allowed workers to take their lunch with them.
The beaches of Durban, between dolphins and surfers
Located on the “dolphin coast”, Durban and its warm waters are a true surfer’s paradise … And the dolphins! It is also possible to observe them jumping above the waves.
This seaside town is bathed in a permanent summer with 320 days of sun and heat per year. Tourists flock there throughout the year to take advantage of its climate and the warm water of the Indian Ocean.
The beaches sport spectacular waves. Surfing is the sport most practiced by the inhabitants of the city, you will not be able to escape the relaxed atmosphere of the passionate surfers.

You will understand that Durban is a city full of environmental and cultural assets. Today, South Africans have made it their quintessential vacation spot. Between its large beaches, surf spots and the country’s largest amusement parks, Durban has become a flagship destination in South Africa.
