OUR COMMITMENTS

Responsible, sustainable and ethical tourism

Our mission at the heart of more responsible tourism

At South African Travellers, we believe in responsible tourism, which cares for the land, local populations and travelers. Our commitments revolve around three main areas: sustainability, social responsibility, and diversity and respect for people. Supported by our entire team, these commitments embody our vision of travel: fairer, more conscious and more human.

Our day-to-day commitments

01.
Environment

Reducing the carbon footprint, promoting renewable energy, reducing waste, and encouraging recycling.

02.
Economy

Supporting responsible financial management, sustainable innovation, and partnerships with ethical suppliers.

03.
Social

Respect for human rights, diversity, inclusion, and active support for local initiatives.

03.
Transparency

Regular dialogue with our partners and clients, and clear reporting of our commitments.

Certified Travelife Partner

South African Travellers is officially certified as a Travelife Partner, an internationally recognized label that attests to our compliance with over 100 rigorous criteria. This certification covers key areas such as protecting the environment and biodiversity, respecting human rights and working conditions, promoting responsible business relations and creating travel experiences that respect local cultures.

Sustainability policy

Our sustainability policy formalizes the concrete commitments made by South African Travellers to limit our environmental impact, promote social equity and encourage sustainable economic practices. You can consult it in detail below.

Our solidarity initiatives
and local initiatives

Conscious of the impact of tourism, we make a contribution to two local NGOs for each trip booked. We also choose to work only with suppliers who respect their employees, support their communities, and share our values of fairness and sustainability.

HBUFC – More than a club,
a community project

Hout Bay United Football Community

Through soccer, HBUFC brings together young people from three Hout Bay neighborhoods. The club offers them a safe environment, academic support and personal development workshops. The aim is to foster the emergence of a new generation that is aware, committed and supportive.

Care Cruisers –
actions in the heart of Cape Town

Hout Bay United Football Community

Founded in 2016, Care Cruisers NPC works in Cape Town to create a bond of solidarity between the homeless and the city’s residents. Every week, the association distributes meals, relief packages and basic necessities, while offering a moment of listening and comfort. Beyond material aid, Care Cruisers embodies a profoundly human approach: reminding everyone that they are seen, respected and worthy of attention.

An evolutionary approach

Our commitments are not set in stone. We regularly re-evaluate our policy to adapt it to the realities of the tourism sector and to environmental issues. This continuous improvement also relies on the active involvement of our teams, partners and customers.
