Our history
It all began in 2007, when two travelers from Brussels settled in the private reserves near Kruger Park. Seduced by the intensity of South Africa, they set up a small local agency with a simple aim: to share their passion with other French speakers. In 2018, after several years abroad, Natalie and Filip are discovering this exceptional land.
Conquered, they joined the adventure and opened the way to Dutch-speaking customers. Two years later, Filip took over the management of the agency, alongside Xavier, a long-standing friend and specialist in motorcycle trips to southern Africa.

How does a tailor-made trip get designed?
Designing a tailor-made itinerary happens in several steps. The client submits an online quote request specifying their wishes, indicative budget and dates. An advisor reaches out within 24 to 48 hours to refine the project. A detailed itinerary is then proposed, including accommodations, transfers and activities. The trip is confirmed once the client validates and pays a 40% deposit, the balance being due before departure.
What types of trips do you offer in Southern Africa?
South African Travellers builds trips around 9 main themes: safari & Big Five, honeymoon, family travel, road trip & self-drive, luxury travel, wellness, beach & diving, eco-tourism and incentive travel. These themes can be combined — for example a safari followed by a beach stay in Mozambique, or a road trip in Namibia with wellness stops.
What is the Travelife certification and what does it guarantee?
The Travelife Partner certification is an international recognition for sustainable tourism. It certifies that South African Travellers meets more than 100 environmental, social and ethical criteria: responsible partner selection, support to local communities, reduced carbon footprint and contributions to local NGOs. With each confirmed trip, a contribution is donated to the agency's two NGO partners.
Can I travel to South Africa as a family with young children?
Yes, South African Travellers offers itineraries specifically designed for families, including with young children. Advisors select family-friendly lodges, adjust the trip's pace and choose private reserves where age-minimum rules for safaris are less restrictive than in public national parks like Kruger. Activities suited to each age group are built into the itinerary.
How does on-trip assistance work?
Every client has access to a 24/7 assistance line throughout their trip. In case of an unexpected event — cancellation, logistical issue, medical emergency — a South African Travellers advisor is reachable directly from South Africa to intervene in real time with local partners. Clients also receive their full itinerary on the Wetu app, accessible on mobile without internet.
